Beyond the classroom

At Caterham, learning doesn’t stop when lessons end — it evolves. Our Summer School Activities Programme is designed to give students the perfect balance between academic enrichment and adventure, combining challenge, creativity, and fun in equal measure.

Exploring new skills and environments helps students grow in confidence, build friendships, and develop teamwork, while discovering more about the world around them. Outdoor learning is a cornerstone of the Caterham experience, and our beautiful woodland campus provides the ideal backdrop. Within our dedicated Outdoor Learning Centre, students can test their courage and collaboration on our thrilling high ropes treetop adventure course, climbing wall, and low-level obstacle and team-building challenges — experiences unique to Caterham and loved by our pupils.

Our state-of-the-art Sports Centre offers outstanding facilities, including a 25-metre indoor swimming pool, dance studio, sports hall, fully equipped gym, outdoor tennis courts, and all-weather pitches — giving every student the chance to discover new passions or enhance existing skills across a wide variety of sports and fitness activities.

As the sun sets, our evening leisure and social programme brings the community together. Designed to reflect the warm, inclusive atmosphere of Caterham’s term-time boarding life, students can relax and connect through mini sports tournaments, creative art sessions, karaoke nights, house competitions, discos, and chill-out evenings — all within a friendly, family-style environment.

At Caterham, every day is an opportunity to explore, achieve, and create lifelong memories.
